Capital Improvement Bond Progress

In the fall of 2022, voters approved the district’s bond project. Following the approval of the $33 million bond, district administrators worked to secure related approvals for the bond work to be completed in three phases.

 


Completed Bond Projects

Phase 1

The first phase, completed during the summer of 2023, included:

  • The replacement of the turf field and track at the athletic complex.
  • Hallway flooring replacement in the high school.


What’s Next

The district is looking forward to commencing Phases 2 and 3 of the bond over the next two summers. Here is a look at what’s coming:

 

Summer 2024 – Phase 2

  • Replacement of the bleachers, field house and press box at the district’s athletic complex.
    • The new bleachers on both the home and guest sides of the field will be handicap accessible.
    • The field house will be constructed on the north side of the home bleachers and will feature bathrooms and a concession stand.
    • The press box will sit above the home bleachers allowing for increased seating.
  • Half of all instructional spaces at the elementary school will be upgraded and revamped.
  • All windows at the middle school will be upgraded to energy-efficient windows while preserving the appearance of the building.
  • Passenger elevators at the high school and middle school will be replaced with new, improved elevators.
  • Older windows at the elementary school will be replaced.
  • The fire alarm system will be replaced at the elementary school.
  • Roof work will commence at the high school and elementary school.

 

Summer 2025 - Phase 3

  • Two pairs of bathroom facilities at the high school and middle school will be renovated.
  • Cafeteria renovation at the high school and cafeteria cooling will be completed in all three schools.
  • The high school library will be renovated.
  • The remaining half of instructional spaces at the elementary school will be revamped and the portables removed.
  • Roof work and masonry repairs will be completed at the middle school.• Electrical and HVAC upgrades at all three schools.

 


Capital Projects

In addition to projects funded through the capital improvement bond, the district plans for improvements and maintenance of its plant through each year’s operating budget.

 

Projects completed through the 2023-24 budget included:

  • Flooring replacements and sidewalk repair at the middle school
  • The addition of gym partition curtains and additional electronic door access points at all three schools
  • Septic system maintenance at the high school and middle school
  • The installation of a new fence at the buildings and grounds facility.
  • District maintenance staff also renovated the school store at the high school using funds from their budget line.
